Cortina MK2

Bon et bien voila, il n'y en avait pas encore dans le cheptel PAF mais cela sera corrigé la semaine prochaine avec l'arrivée à l'atelier de cette petite Cortina MK2, 1966, 2 portes, 1300 Deluxe.

A première vue elle en repousserait plus d'un, surtout sachant qu'elle est restée un bon moment (plusieurs années) dehors. Ce qui l'a certainement ''sauvée" est qu'elle était sur un sol béton et pas dans l'herbe...



Du vert de gris sur toute l'auto, mais lorsque l'on regarde de plus prêt, un petit coup de nettoyage et là surprise....



Le reste de la caisse est très sain, pas de rouille pénétrante là ou généralement on voit au travers ce qui est complètement incomprehensible mais une excellente nouvelle...

First idea when I heard about this car being ''abandoned'' was to get it back here so that I would have one at hands in order to understand these better, be able to check parts on it etc etc. That was 1.5 year ago and kind of forgot about it TBH, owner did not seem to want to part with it. Then last week out of the blue, got a text message about it, had to go, wanted rid of it for a very small price so just had to say yes even though I had not seen it in the flesh. Early MK2, 2 doors, even if it was a rust basket it was still good to have at hand. Now the good surprise it would seem is that the shell is not a basket case so going to have a proper look at it once it is over here and decide which route to take.....Twincam eh eh eh

Yes it must be one of the first ones, might ask for your knowledge on these once it is back here to find out a little more if you don't mind ?
